1 out of 5 stars Acer Aspirer One Review   July 17, 2010

1 out of 5 stars New Acer not working out of the box   July 16, 2010
Donald L. Desper (Aniak, AK)
We bought this computer and it was delivered promptly by Amazon. Out of the box, the wireless network card did not work. We contacted Acer and they sent us suggestions to fix the thing for 3 days including reformatting the hard disk, reinstalling all software, uninstalling the wirless driver and reinstalling it just to mention a few. Finally, they suggested we send it to a repair center in Texas where it is now and we haven't heard anything from them for over a week now. I don't think that a consumer should be responsible for making a computer work when it is bought new with a warranty. Acer even told us that we had to pay the one way shipping to get it to the repair center. I suggest buying something other than Acer products due to the problems we have had with consumer support and the fact that the computer did not work properly out of the box.

1 out of 5 stars Acer products no good?   July 5, 2010
Heather
Okay I bought the Acer Aspire Netbook AOD150 and it was pretty good for as long as it worked. One day I opened it up and although the green charge light was on, it would not turn on. Thought the battery was dead, bought a new one (80.00 ouch) and that did not help it. I look on internet and there are plenty of things about this problem. Read about bios flash for a fix, but the instuctions do not match the file that Acer allowed me to download from their bios section. So, *sigh* after less than year it seems to be junk.

Should have known, we bought a nice Acer desktop which only lasted 2 years before it died. What ever happened to the old days when a computer worked until it was so out of date you had to buy a new one?

I lways thought Acer was a good compay but I won't buy another. This bios thing, if its really what is wrong, is way too hard of a fix for a new computer.

Don't buy Acer.

My husband's Dell has been perfect....

2 out of 5 stars Worked fine for one year, customer service worthless   July 5, 2010
Colin McLarty (Chardon, OH USA)
Mine worked fine for one year, and today no apparent reason refuses to boot (Windows logo comes up as usual, then the screen goes blank, and stays that way). Customer service suggested a "power reset" which had no effect. Now they say for $99 plus shipping plus parts plus further charges to be determined they may or may not be able to fix it, taking some undetermined amount of time. Not a bet I am willing to take.
